At OPIE we understand that individual attention is imperative for a broad understanding and development of skills. Classes contain a maximum of fifteen students, allowing coursework to be conducted in an environment which is friendly, making it easier to ask questions and attain all the help that is required. The creative studio sessions encourage innovation and participation in group projects and discussions, gaining skills essential to success in your profession and creating an environment similar to that of a real practice.
Excellence in Teaching
One of the primary reasons for establishing the Polytechnic was to place due emphasis on excellence in teaching methods. The teaching staff at OPIE are highly qualified academics and professionals with industry experience. Teaching staff have local and international teaching experience in Universities, Tertiary Institutions and other RTO’s. All staff are currently involved in practice as specialists in their profession. Chosen for their inspiring personalities, their high academic and professional qualifications, teaching staff have a confident grasp of their material, are friendly and eager to assist students.
Specialisation in the Field
All courses offered by OPIE are within the arts and built environment fields. The faculty therefore fully understands the industry requirements of all study areas within the courses offered and has years of experience in the delivery of such courses.
Complete Insurance & Student Welfare Protection
Oceania Polytechnic has many provisions in place to protect the student’s interests and welfare. These are reflected in the Polytechnic’s Rules and Regulations. OPIE’s Student Complaints Policy and Procedure welcomes students to voice their concerns either with staff, who are always very helpful, or their student representative, and in the unlikely event of a resolution not being agreed upon, outside mediation is sought by the Dispute Resolution Centre of Victoria. Students are also invited to talk to the counsellors if they have a personal or study problem and are assured confidentiality
