Oceania Polytechnic Institute of Education Pty. Ltd. (A.C.N 075 892 723), (thereafter refere to as 'OPIE', 'Oceania Polytechnic', 'us', 'our' or 'we') has outlined the following policy with respect to website users' privacy in the use of our website (www.opie.vic.edu.au).
The information we collect
Our website service provider, Anchor Systems Pty. Ltd. may make a record of your visit to a Web site and use a Web Server to log any of the following information:

- domain name (eg. .edu, .gov, .com, .au, .uk, etc)

- the date and time of the visit to a site
- the pages accessed and documents downloaded
- the previous site visited

- revision of Web site Content to better meet users' information needs

Access to Web Server logs is restricted to authorised system administrators.
Cookies

A numbered key is a unique number generated by a Web Server and is used to track your current session. The session key can be linked back to a user's login identification.

Unique identifiers may also be used to access stored information about a user's preferences to enable the dynamic display of a Web site according to your preferences when you return to that site. In particular, this occurrs when a student or staff member attempts to log in to access specific parts of the site.

Your Personal Information
Personal information you supply online will be used by OPIE staff in conducting the business of OPIE. Such uses include matters related to student administration, provision of services and the dissemination of information to staff, prospective and current students and remaining in contact with graduates. Most of this information would be sought via email communications. Please note that email communications are not secure and that you should never transmit sensitive financial information via email. OPIE will not request any details of a senstive financial nature via email.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Staff email addresses are made available within staff and student access pages. Access to theses pages requires a login and password. Staff may elect to not have their email address displayed via these pages.
Personal information about students will not be made publically available on OPIE websites without the written consent of individual students. Photographs of student's models and CAD work are displayed on the website and are attributed, where possible to the creator of the model or CAD work. If Students do not wish to be identified in the display of any of their work, they must contact OPIE.
Queries about Privacy
Any user with a query or complaint relating to the privacy of personal information collected via OPIE Web Servers or Web sites , should contact the the school via the nospam:info@opie.vic.edu.au website. Please remove the 'nospam:' prefix before using this email address.
