There are no secondary school subject prerequisites for entry into the courses. The OPIE Interview incorporates an aptitude test designed to indicate whether applicants possess sufficient literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills, to allow them to successfully complete the course. There is no need for revision or study preparation required for you to succeed in the aptitude test. Interviews are held at OPIE in Melbourne. If you live interstate or overseas but are intending to move to Melbourne during the application process or some time before enrolment, OPIE will exert every effort to arrange an appointment for an interview with you which is convenient. If you currently live overseas, or interstate, and are unable to visit Melbourne during the application process, you are required to submit a Curriculum Vitae including a Personal Essay of approximately 600 words introducing yourself and illustrating your wish to study the course at OPIE.

In this unlikely event, any increase in costs will be notified at least two months prior to their application.

Should we cancel a course for any reason, learners enrolled at the time that we announce the cancellation will be entitled to a full refund for any training and assessment that has been paid for but not yet delivered. This will incur no administrative charges or penalties and will be paid within 28 days.

Should we be unable to provide all units to meet the learner’s course completion schedule, course fees paid on any unavailable unit/s will be refunded and a statement of attainment will be issued for any satisfactorily completed units.

We may arrange for another course, or part of a course, to be provided at no (extra) cost to the learner as an alternative to refunding course money. Where the learner agrees to this arrangement, we shall not be liable to refund the money owed for the original enrolment.

Deferment of Course and Fee Credit

Students may receive a pro-rata credit, less the non-refundable deposit, if they cannot continue the course for unavoidable reasons. The credit can be used to pay for a future course of their choice.
